The RCLI ’18 Class began the new year with its “Business in Society” session. The Class started out on Friday at The Fahrenheit Group, under the guidance of emcee, Brian Broadway, RCLI board member. Barrett Clark, ’14 started out the session by talking about the Institution of Business—setting the stage for the remainder of the weekend. Barrett was followed by Buddy Childress, Executive Director, Needle’s Eye Ministries, who addressed the Significance of Business and explored the theology of “call.”
The Common Thread, a ministry in Scott’s Addition, hosted the session on Saturday. The powerful line-up launched with the site’s host, Sherrie Moore, and was followed by Bob Mooney (Co-founder, NRV, LLC) and Boyd Clarke (pharmaceutical executive).
A morning panel discussion was held involving Barry Saunders (Joe Smith/Padilla), Greg Jordan (US Bank), Cherie Parson (Parson Law, PLLC), and Tom Scott (Virginia Economic Development Partnership). Ultimately, the Class received rich insight into the role of business and appropriate expressions of faith in the workplace.
