From L to R: David Clarke, Gwen Corley Creighton, H ’13, and Brannon Howle ’10 (Not pictured here: Shunda Giles, ’09”

With the close of our 2017 Fiscal year on June 30th, we recognize the faithful service of Shunda Giles, ’09, Gwen Corley Creighton, H ’13,  Brannon Howle, ’10, and David Clarke as they conclude their Board service.  Combined, these four members have 25 years of service on the RCLI Board.

Shunda Giles, ’09 is the current Director of Social Services and has served on the RCLI Board for four years.  Prior to serving on the Board, Shunda also served as a Journeywoman (Shepherd) for four Class years.  Gwen Corley Creighton, H ’13, stepped onto the Board six years ago and has been instrumental in the Christian Leadership work of RCLI dating back to our start with the ’08 Class.  Gwen has frequently served as an MC for RCLI sessions, earning her comments such as, “Gwen has a sweet, gentle and welcoming spirit,” and “Gwen is phenomenal! She helped set the tone and everything fell into place after that.  She exudes the peace and joy that can only come from God” (RCLI ’16 Class members).  Gwen was made an honorary member of the ’13 Class.

Brannon Howle is a member of the ’10 Class who contacted Tim in response to RCLI’s newsletter, which requested a volunteer to manage RCLI’s financials.  Shortly after his Class year ended, Brannon stepped into the treasurer role, where he’s served for five of the last seven years.  Brannon currently works at the Federal Reserve; he’s looking forward to taking on more responsibilities in his role there, as well as with his family.  David Clarke began his board service in 2009–8 years ago!  He has served three of those years as Board Chair, plus one as past Chair.  David has provided legal review and remains RCLI’s “Registered Agent.”  Interestingly, he’s known for RCLI’s longest-distance donation–participating in the Amazing Raise while in Italy!

We are so grateful for these incredible Servant Leaders who have helped establish and grow RCLI!
